Humans Above Boundaries
Starting a One Woman at a Time fundraising Circle
You already know why you want to raise funds to help one individual woman get the care she needs for her unintended or unwanted pregnancy. HAB is going to help you with all the information you will need.
HOW TO BECOME AN OW@T ORGANIZER
Starting an OW@T campaign is easier than it sounds. You don’t need special training or a large team—just a commitment to help one woman at a time. The steps below outline how Organizers learn the model, form a small group, and guide it from first idea to successful donation. Everything you need—templates, scripts, and forms—is provided in the OW@T Organizer Kit. Click here to see the Table of Contents.
1. Learn the Concept
Review the OW@T Presentation and this short overview. This gives you the heart of the idea—how peer-based circles help fund one woman’s access to reproductive care.
3. Form a Tiny Team
Identify one or two people you trust to help coordinate communications, record donations, and share outreach. Help them understand the OW@T process. You’ll guide the group together.
4. Choose Your Partner Organizations
Select the Travel & Lodging (T&L) provider and a Reproductive Care provider you wish your group to support. The Organizer Kit includes a directory with links and contact info.
5. Secure one or more Sponsors to pledge $600 in matching funds.
Each OW@T campaign aims for $1,200 total—half from donors and half from a matching Sponsor (individual or group). HAB may help identify potential matching funds if needed.
6. Reach Out to Donors and Spread the Word
Use the provided scripts, sample emails, and social posts to invite friends and family to contribute. Many Organizers also share their story with local media or community newsletters to broaden awareness.
7. Track and Reach Your Goal
As donations come in, record them in the Donor Log and Matching Fund Tracker. When your campaign reaches its $1,200 goal (or more), celebrate and close out the drive.
8. Notify HAB and Direct the Funds
Use the simple forms in the Organizer Kit to notify HAB and forward funds directly to your chosen T&L and Care organizations, crediting “Humans Above Boundaries – OW@T.”
Ready to Begin?
You can start today by reviewing the Organizer’s Agreement and letting HAB know you’d like to move forward. Once your signed agreement is received, we’ll send you the complete OW@T Organizer Kit—with templates, scripts, and forms to guide every step. Every OW@T begins with one person deciding that one woman’s story matters.
Interested but not yet sure you’re ready to sign?
You can always reach out to HAB at HumansAboveBoundaries.info@gmail.com to ask questions or talk through what being an Organizer involves. We’ll help you understand the process and connect you with others who’ve already launched their own OW@T campaigns.
